Something to think about if adding solar!
Just came across this article. Interesting info on where panels come from and what their made of. Still trying to figure out where mine fit in!

Well at least my US made Solarworld panels were high in the ranks...will sacrifice a little off the leader board to make sure they are US made!

Just bought 3-435 watt Sunpower panels... I see they come in at number 2 by the chart... Will find out how they work by next week..

I had enough to worry about getting the solar installed. Glad I didn't know there were other things to worry about.

I order four Solar World SW-270M2.5 Mono 270 Watt panels, but they were out of stock, so the are giving me 275 Watt panels for the same price.
My Controller will only handle 60 Amps output (800 Watts input). This will allow me to run the controller closer to full power when full sun is not over head or cloudy days, etc.
The controller output is 60 Amps max, so when the panels are able to produce more power, they will be limited by the controller.
My experience in the past, indicate that there are more days of 50-65% of full power days than full power days. So this time I am building a system with 35% more power than I can use, which should gave me 85-100% of my controllers rating on less than ideal days.

John, I feel your pain. The estimate o mine is nearly $25,000. Shop says we will be looking at 6 to 12 weeks for parts. Looking at new 3711, or whatever we can find we can afford. Doubt if a wrecked Montana is worth much trade in
