From everything I have read on the forum, I believe contact should be with Goodyear. Evidently, different success and failure stories are out there. From what I gather, they need to keep the tire and document the damage. Hopefully Goodyear will do the right thing.

As long as they've got the tire they should be treated fairly. Goodyear customer service is who to call: Call us at the Goodyear Customer Assistance Center: 1-800-321-2136. Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM ET.

Strange things has happen today. This AM I went to my local tire guy to get a tire plugged and a couple returning to FL with a Mountaineer (not a MOC'er yet) was pulling into to the tire shop's driveway. All of a sudden they stopped with the back end of their unit in the highway. He told me his trailer brakes locked on him. I immediately saw the plug on his kill switch had pulled out. Reinserting this for him the brakes unlocked. He had two ST tires to blow (not Marathons)with body damage. He was at the dealership to get replacements. After some discussion with him he decided on BF Goodrich Commercial ATs. The ST tires were some brand I have never heard of. I gave them my card and invited them to join the MOC. Hopefully they will because I spoke to them on the same topic as mentioned above.

Post script!!! Dick called back and after having the spare installed by road service, they only made it 20 mi. before Marathon on the other side let go and destroyed the driver side rear!!! They were waiting, AGAIN, for roadside assistance and a tire, since they'd already used the spare?! What luck?! Gave him Goodyear Warranty # and he was calling while waiting for service. He'd been checking tire pressure regularly, but tread seperation doesn't seem to care?!!! Bummer!

I did't want to chance this happening to us and replaced mine at 200 miles. No problems at all with the Duravis R 250s.
Best of luck to your friend Dick & hope he has exhausted his allocation of bad luck.
