Mine started this week. Yes, tried gorilla tape, waste of time. When we get off this trip I will have to order and repair as the OP did. PDF is great. One question, right behind my roller, a 1 1/2 inch piece of thick rubber came out. What is the thick rubber a part of? TIA.

Here is a clickable link to ChuckS' video. Unfortunately the forum software also Youtube videos in Posts but there doesn't appear to be a way to save it in the Files section.

Chuck, did you just install the humw only at the rollers? Or did you install all of the humw under the side.

The UHMW strips I’ve used are installed underneath from end to end give coverage over the torn Darco I had at both outer edges..

My slides are all hydrauilc thru the frame with no rollers..wear bars instead..are what the slide bottoms ride onto except the BR hydraulic slide..it uses a cradle mount

The UHMW strips could be used.. IMO on electric slides with rollers.. a bevel on the leading edge of the UHMW strip would make the transition onto the roller smoother..

Or… I don’t see why you couldn’t slightly lift the slide and install the UHMW strip onto the roller and secure to bottom so that slide is always on the UHMW strip

I don’t think this would affect motor drive issues if this was a Schwintek electric slide.

My repairs as shown in the video and PDF are on their second season of use..I have had zero issues with slide out motion during extend and retract and zero issues with the UHMW strips

I have the Electric Bal accu-side in mine, the damage is exactly like yours.
My rollers are 6" wide, I ordered 12x36x.0125 UHMW (Black) I'll cut in half and install under the rollers, Like you mentioned left the slide slightly and install under the rollers and up against the wear bar with a bevel edge. Thanks for your information and help.

I started mine tonight with the UHMW. I cut them and beveled the edge, and drilled and countersunk the holes. I was thinking about going under roller. Not so easy. I lifted my slide 2 inches and the tension on the roller keeps it tight up against the slide. My 6 inch rollers get there tension from thick rubber wedges in the roller housings. I wasn’t going to lift any further. I hope to finish tomorrow. Just food for thought. My slide is our biggest slide and are electric/cable style.

Finished installing UHMW strips on both sides. Mine has rollers. I could not raise the slide up enough to get the strips underneath the rollers, so beveled a slope at 25 degrees. Slide works, but it is toooo much of a bump to sustain to get the roller to get on the UHMW strips. The gears in the motor will not survive this long. Bad thing is that I glued and screwed my strips, so removing them now is out of the question. I’m going to remove the rollers to expose the sloped edge and sand or grind a more gradual slope. When I jacked my slide up 2 inches, seem like the roller still had a lot of pressure on it. I wish I knew who makes my slide or how to find replacement rollers, if needed. Mine is the electric cable slide. TIA.
