3rd hand crank

Okay - I need a refresher as I start my spring cleanup on our Monty. The three hand cranks located on the forward basement wall. I know the dealer explained these to us during our PDI, but I can only figure out two of them. One is for the spare tire holder, one is for the landing gear, and I think the third is for the sliders, but I can't extend them right now to verify that. I know there's a manual override with a electric drill on the slider motor, but I'm thinking there was also a crank somewhere on the slide. Any help?

Are you sure the 3rd one is a crank and not a long 'handle' to capture and hold onto the little rope on your main awning. On my unit I have two metal cranks - one for the spare tire and the other for the original front landing gear(I've since had mine upgraded to hydraulic). To get the slides (and now front gear) to move I have to use a drill on the hydraulic pump.

Keep us posted on what you discover.

I also have just the 2 cranks. I cannot imagine what the 3rd would be. I am sure someone will explain that one.

I only have two cranks, same as Glenn.

The third crank is for the rear stabilizers.

Some units have;
1. Landing gear crank
2. Spare tire crank
3. Stabilizers crank

That make sense?

All these cranks...make me cranky.

Interesting, but it does make sense. I was looking at mine last night trying to see what could take a 3rd size crank -- On my unit my rear stabilizers are electric but the manual 'assist' is the same as the spare tire jack so I had dismissed it. However, no reason why the factory couldn't make it a different size just to confuse us . Somedays I wonder -- just like working on the cars -- some nuts are SAE, some are metric, and none of the screws are normal flat or cross blade. Time for another caffeine fix.

I also thought the 3rd crank might be for the rear stabilizers but after crawling around back there, I didn't see anywhere that would accept the crank. Might just end up calling the dealer!

Just happened to think, one crank is used on the rear stabilizers, and the other crank is used to crank the front landing legs and is also used on the spare tire winch.

Art - I like your thought process there -- a job for one more employee at the plant...

Oh, dang, I thought you meant at the factory but wife is telling me you meant for the little Dyno (or similar) labels ....

I only had two cranks, unless I included Earlene.

Art - that's exactly what I have in mind, but still got to figure out the purpose for the third crank. Once again tonight I looked at the rear stabilizers and didn't see any location to use the crank.

The location for the crank should be opposite the side where the motor is located. I also labeled the three cranks so if I need one of them, I don't have to play crank roulette.
