AL-KO Ultralube Axles

I am a rookie at this RVing. My 3255 has AL-Ko Ultralube axles and bearings. Are the zerk fittings to be trusted or is it best to pack manually? Any suggestions for the proper wheel bearing grease in a cartridge. Also what is the best way to sanitize the fresh water system? The owners manual is useless on this subject. If I hadn't bought this unit used, I could have learned this from the dealer. Thanks
