The only lawyer I had dealings with got me a disability rating and 4 years of back pay from SSA. They aren't all bad. A flat $5300 fee, set by SSA.

After my last MC Accident (Hit and run - I was hit) I told my lawyer that my "Under insured" insurance may give me something (we found the guy that hit me - that's another story)
He sent a 1 page letter to m insurance, and a few months later my insurance sent a check for $20K. Lawyer took 40% of it. He also charged me $154.00 for sending the letter.
I have a son that is a lawyer and he's.... well I'll not go there, right now.

I just wish they and the hedge funds would leave coal out of the commodities mix. Fluctuations in my 401 and stock holdings tend to leave me rattled when retirement is at stake. Earnings release tomorrow, hopefully Friday will settle me down a little. I groaned after I posted that Dave, almost like the mouth running before the brain catches up??? Ha Ha!
