Ok, what cha think?
CountryGuy and I are looking at the rest of this winter's get away, what to see, what to do, you know the routine - -
So, the question comes to the experts, do these routes/roads or plans/hopes have any issues we are unaware of.
Travel dates, March 15th April 15. Give or take a few days here and there for us to change our minds, you know, have fun.
OK, what cha think??? Thanks for your help, as always.
St. George to Hurricane (cause we cannot get Tana through Zion).
Hurricane via 59 to Colorado City.
Onward to Fredonia via 399
Next Page via 89.
98 from Page to 160, then, to Monument Valley.
Page on to via Bia 59 and 264 and who knows what other numbers to Gallop New Mexico.
40 to Albuquerque

That general route should be interesting. We stayed in Kanab, UT and enjoyed the tour at Pipe Spring National Monument near Fredonia, and went on a picnic at Coral Pink Sand Dunes just north up in UT. At Page the Glen Canyon Dam tour for us was wonderful. After you leave Monument Valley we recommend visiting Canyon DeChelly and if you don't mind 13 miles of very rough wash board roads (times two) drive into Chaco Canyon. Also, a stop at Hubbard Trading Post on your way down to Gallup would be a good side trip. Have Fun

Can only comment on the very end. We're going to Gallup for our 20th in April. Very few good stopping places in Gallup so get a reservation early. For an overnite in Albuquerque the Rt66 Casino is good (get their players club card free and the buffet is very good). For longer we stay at Enchanted Trails RV park just down I-40.

The 4 Corners area is a great place to visit in the spring. Hovenweep has a great hiking trail around the ruins, Canyon de Chelly--take the tour on one of their vehicles, Hubbell Trading Post is a must stop--great Indian blankets, in Gallup--visit the Wolf Sanctuary that is south of town, and El Morro for some really old signatures in the rocks. Maybe a little cool in Santa Fe--but watch the weather for opportunities. Have a great time!

The mountains can be quite treacherous in March and April, keep a close eye on the weather forecast

I've seen 40 closed from Flag to ABQ around Easter. So the surrounding roads may also have problems. Watch the weather.

Watch for snow and slick areas in southern co this time of year. Or turn south as it sounds like you plan to from four corners.
I would travel this same route again. Loved the area. Keep your fuel topped off or have an aux tank. Full services at monument valley. All others are.sparse.

Is a great spot in Hurricane, we used that as a base camp to go to Zion and Brice also Best friends animal shelter. the tunnel wont allow any big high profile units to go through I don't know if they will allow Duilies. it looks like a great trip you have going.

yes, Trailer Trash 2
They do allow a dually through the tunnel.
Tunnel
Did it a few years ago. They charge $15.00 per truck. Will get you two "one way trips" within 7 days.
What they did when we were there, is basically stopped ALL the traffic that would be "coming at cha". Then they have you drive down the middle of the two lanes.
Thanks for the suggestion for the park, CountryGuy is looking it over very hard.
