Another Mission tire thread

As many of you know, I recently replaced my missions with the 614's. Today I was just looking at the old missions and looked at the DOT code. It say's DOT 1099 which to me means 10th week of 99. yikes, am I reading this right?

Mike,
I believe on mine the date code was in another location.. 2007 3400RL built in 2006, and the build weeks were 24 and 25 of 2006, Spare build was 21st week of 2006. Believe I would look a little harder for the year codes, I don't think that you are looking at the correct numbers. Hope this helps.

I actually don't think Mission brand is that old. Usually they change to a different name after two years to avoid all the law suits.

My missions were DOT 1099.

A couple days ago I was admiring a motor home. I bent over and looked at the 12 digit DOT code and th ending number was 2499. In my book that is 24th week of 1999. the MH was a 2002 and had 38000+- miles on it. The manufacture was Mission. The motor home was a Monaco but I don't remember who mfg's that model.

Mike, don't feel bad, I brought up this same date code on my 08 Big Sky back in March and was told that code didn't exist. LOL, I am vindicated. Same code inside and outside of tires, only DOT code on the tires. The dealer is checking on them as we speak. As soon as I hear from the dealer as to tire status I will go from there. If they are too stupid to figure it out then it is off to Goodyear I go... Dave

Oh boy this is gonna get fun. Tommorow I'm gonna look at them again, but I talked to a couple of tire shops today and they both said it's not good. Certainly Keystone would not sell me a trailer with almost 10 year old tires on it. I might also call Tireco.

I think there is another number stamped by itself in an oval impression. I think that the 1099 code was on my spare and I had to look a little closer to find the actual date stamp.

Well upon further investigation, I found what I believe is the real date code of 0207. This code is NOT in the usual DOT oval though. Next step is to call tireco with the serial numbers tommorow.
