Raining from the A/C

Just got back from a weekend in Destin FL. When we got set up Friday afternoon, we found there was a lot of water coming from the main A/C vent when we were running the fan on high. When we turned the fan to low, the drips diminished and eventually stopped. Went to Wal-Mart to buy a Torks set (10, 15, 20 and 25)with the idea of removing the vent cover but none of the sizes fit. Evidently the rain we've had lately had found a way into the unit and settled in the A/C vent cover. I climbed up on the roof but saw nowhere that looked like there was an entrance hole. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it? What does it take to remove the vent cover?
