Question Theft of something electric, but what? 2002

Hi all,

I am hoping someone might be able to help me figure this out - I just discovered my 2002 Mountaineer 31 was robbed. My tools were taken, but other than that, next to the electric circuit breakers, there is a metal panel at floor level underneath the stove. I was horrified to find two red wires are cut in there and I can't figure out what they were attached to. I know there's a water heater in there somewhere, but I don't think it's right there. The electricity is off (I have been planning to move it, but the guy died where it is sitting, and the electric company turned off the power sometime in the last month. When I was last there, everything worked - now the battery is dead.

I hope someone might know what was stolen. I would seriously like to crack the guy who did it over the head - if I just knew who it was, preferably with a cast iron skillet. Oh, how I wished I had moved it.

Thanks,
Molly

Possibly your carbon monoxide detector???? It is normally installed low because it is heavier than air.

Actually it might be the propane detector. It is propane that is heavier than air.

Could it be the gas detector was chirping do to low battery and was bugging the thief so he cut it out and then decided to take it.

On my 2006 the propane detector is attached to a wood panel directly under the stove.

Thank you all for the answers. I am guessing it is the inverter or converter. Could be both, for all I know. Of all strange things, this thief stole a very large shed parked at the same location, along with all the tools and wood and so on. The owner was a “friend of his” and died last spring, leaving the rural house vacant.

The property was sold recently - at the same time I noticed the theft because of Dorian coming, there was an auction and the new owners unplugged the rig as they had to put a new meter in. I charged up the battery but the 12 volts don’t come on. (Converter?). But this bozo clipped something and I’m guessing he was after the inverter. Whatever it is is right next to the circuit breakers next to the stairs.
It is a 2002 31’ Mountaineer. Front bedroom.

As for ‘could it be where the finance was? ‘- my finances have taken a trip with much of my brain. They said they would send a postcard, but I’m still waiting. I hope they return soon, but I’m not banking on it.
