Norcold 1200 removal

I am about to remove my 4 dr norcold 1200 . My doorway is 28”. No problem removing the doors but the hinges and fridge control stick out 2”. I dont want to fully remove hinges. Looking for any input from anyone who has removed unit from a montana and how they dealt with the lower drawer below fridge that has to be removed to make room for the new fridge.

We had our cooling unit replaced twice over 4 years ago, the first time the techs removed all the doors to reduce the weight and laid it face down in the livingroom to replace the unit, and the second time left the doors on, but they struggled to move the fridge. Removing and reinstalling the doors did not appear to be a difficult job, and the more weight you can shed, the easier it is going to be to move the fridge. We have a space below our fridge with a panel covering it, but that would be where a drawer could be. There may be a power cable in that area you will need to deal with. I'm thinking basic carpentry skills will be needed to build a support at the proper height for the bottom of the new fridge.

Yes. Even with the doors on, it still should go through most RV doors. The installation manual says the enclosure, the cabinet that the fridge fits in, only needs to be 24" deep, so add two or three inches to that, and it still should go through a door opening, but like I said, having those doors off will make it much easier and less likely to get someone hurt trying to handle it. I assisted the RV tech, the first time we had a cooling unit replaced, to pull the unit out, and this was with the doors removed, and these units are heavy and difficult to get a hold on to move them. Also, not knowing why you are removing the fridge, but if the unit was leaking, be very careful that it may start leaking again while you are handling it. The second time our cooling unit had to be replaced was due to a leak. The two techs removed the fridge, moved it into the livingroom and set it face down on the floor, and all of a sudden it started leaking ammonia and we had to evacuate the rig for about a half hour to allow the unit to stop leaking and the gas to clear out of the trailer.

How does the trim around the fridge come off?
Is it just nailed on with Brad nails?

There are little black plastic caps that cover the screws. I believe the two sides are separate from the top trim piece.
