Problems....

Last week my 2-stage tank switch over stopped working and furnace would not work. Had to buy space heater at Walmart to help heat trailer along with fireplace. It has been cold down in Mesa so far this year. Ordered a new switch valve on internet. Bad reviews from products sold at Camping World. Should receive by the 15th. Last night smelled something like burnt plastic and had cold water this morning. The little switch in cabinet with hot water tank had burned one side of switch, so bought another switch that didn't fit the hole, but trimmed to fit, kind of. Had one heck of a time fishing wire back thru small hole switch fit into. Hot water heater now working on electric. One down and one to go. Went to fill EMPTY tank after shaking tank and the station I took it too said in only took 2 1/2 gallons. I think I will take tank to a different place to get filled because I don't feel they no how to fill tank properly. This the second time this year from the same place.

If the switch won't changeover you should be able to exchange tanks and still use gas.
I had a similar situation last year and thought it was the changeover valve but it was the red regulator after all. Might see if yours is still passing gas. Might be why your tanks are not showing empty.

I tried switching the tanks, no go, still reading red. The changeover has never worked and most of our vacations of 2 weeks have never used 1 complete tank. Only happens when we are setup for several months. After filling tank and switch arm to that tank it still shows red. The stove works fine.
