That the remote temp sensor for Zone 2 of the AC System, at least it was on our 2010 2955RL.

I’m surprised they located that temp sensor on the ceiling.

But.. remove the cover and make sure the sensor isn’t mounted up inside the ceiling cavity area..if so it ain’t sensing room temp

1st image yellow arrow shows sensor recessed inside wall.. this is no good..

2nd image shows sensor relocated outside wall and plastic grill fits over it nicely

Note red arrow.. if the cutout hole is large like this then seal that hole up behind the sensor to prevent sensor for getting air blowing on it from inside that enclosure area

You will also have another remote temp sensor for Zone 1 and I would look at it as well

Gas detector, odd that it only alerts when I'm in the bathroom.

That is the remote sensor for Zone #2. The sensor for Zone #1 is the thermostat itself.

I found both of mine in the wall. After bringing them out under the covers the way the AC's worked changed for the better.
