Broken Glass

Suddenly there was a loud pop, we went outside to see what had hit the side of the RV, nothing. Looking around noticed there was a hole in the window glass on the slider. It was shattered.

I couldn't find a pellet or BB, but suspect the kids across the way had a ricochet.

Has anyone replaced one of these windows? Do you call a glass place? Do you have to take the entire window frame out? Can just the piece that broke (luckily it was the slider window) come out so I can take it to be replaced? If so, how do you get it out?

Thanks, Robbie

I removed a "fixed" window in our previous TT to repair a leak. I would think the sliders are basically the same. Remove all the screws from the mounting frame and the whole thing slips out. I bet you'll have to replace it all. There are several RV salvage/surplus places that may have a more resonably priced one than a dealer.

Robbie, You might try Roetzel RV Salvage Parts. They have new, used and surplus.
They are located in Searcy, AR toll free 866 542-9225, or 501 268-7694.
They have just about anything you can imagine. In May of this year I bought a new TRC surge protector 50 amp hard wire model 34560 for $142.00. It was the last one he had.
You might get a deal on a window.

Robbie, I have one large window and the outside of the frame measures 25 1/2" x 23 1/2" high. Is that the size you need?

Don,

That is the one, exactly.

Check your PM. Thanks.
