Myrtle Beach SC

We are heading to Myrtle Beach right after X-Mas. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to stay? We would like to be near the beach and have access to a horse ridding stable. We have never been there and have heard that it doesn't get very warm during the winter, but it doesn't here in NNY either.

Giddyup!

We agree with mpl897. We just spent a month at 3079. It was great. Lakewoods right next door is good too. You can ride horses right on the beach and while we were there people were bringing horse trailers into Lake Woods by the dozens.

We are in agreement with the above recomendation. Ocean Lakes is wonderful. Our favorite place to go in the sun. Right on the ocean!! I think it is only $25 per night in winter for elec, water, sewer and cable. Also, wifi is available! Have a great time and don't worry about the weather!

Ocean Lakes has pet restrictions. So we crossed that one off our list.

Great pics. My wife likes site# 2059 because of all of the trees. We're going to try this one if available, unless you're going. Thanks all for the info, we're looking forward to it.

There are three all together Lakewood, Pirate-Land, and Ocean Lakes. All are nice we have stayed at all of them. depends on what you are looking for. Ocean Lakes is huge, i mean huge, over 3500 sites rest are smaller than them. Thing I did not like about Ocean-Lakes is little on tight side getting big Monty in there, and tons and tons of golf carts running everywhere. Myrtle Beach Travel Park is very nice smaller park, very very clean. Closer to the main area and shopping, not far behind the largest Walmart I have ever seen, Bass pro and all the big Shops are across the road. Again all are nice and all have most same amenities so it really depends on what you are looking for. We go at least twice year since we live in NC it's about 4 hour drive for us.

Most of the campgrounds in Myrtle Beach are on the ocean. Tank your pick. Oceanlakes is great. Some of them have 3000 sites. Good luck
