Why I asked about TV
Hey All,
I didn't want to spend $400.00 plus install fees for an outside TV. So we went to Best Buys and got an open stock 32 inch for $85.00 plus another $30.00 for the TV Mount. On the box and in the directions they said not to have the TV in a cold moist area. We have the 4 seasons package but I didn't know if it included that storage area that the TV goes in to. Anyway Thanks all for all your help.. You guys on this forum are great. We learn a lot for all of you.

They’re not wanting condensation to freeze inside the TV. My guess your storage bay will get cold, but shouldn’t have a lot of moisture! IMHO you won’t have any problems

When winter comes and if you store your camper and its gets -20° or more and if you do not have an rv type television, i would recommend you taking them out before storage to keep them from freezing. Our home in U.P. Michigan we put our tv in the utility room in the winter as that is heated all winter when the rest of the house is winterized. Just a thought.

There are really no "RV TYPE TV's" The class A industry that really developed the outdoor RV tv experience has always used standard residential TV, usually the more budget ones. While there are IP 65 TV's they are way expensive and the RV manufactures would NEVER pay that. Until recently Samsung was the most popular RV outside TV and they were not any different that any indoor residential. I know that Fleetwood the largest RV manufacture who also used Samsung til recently switched to Sansui not for any moisture resistance but more for vibration reliability and lower cost. Rv manufactures have no loyalty to quality TV otherwise Keystone would not be using the Garbage Jensen rebranded crap.

just picked up replacement TV's for my outside patio at home and for the outside of the Montana on Craigslist for a fifth of the cost of new ones. Work great and both are upgrades from the first ones. When these quit I will look at CL again..

Look at it this way - the worst you are out is $85. Our rig has an outdoor TV - I think we have used it twice. I would not do another one.

I would LOVE to install 3 or 4 every day at $400 plus installation fees. What a rip off! Thankful you didn't fall for it.

Yep that's what they wanted!!! I asked twice and then I ask the salesman if they forgot to pay the electric bill and they wanted me to pay it for them. I new they were trying to rip me off with that.
Thanks,
Charlie

I keep mine mounted while in winter storage. I wonder if you keep it plugged in if it will stay warm with some power trickling through it? Just like the old light bulb in a dark area to keep your water lines from freezing up.
