Bird nest in the pin box

I pulled the rig up to do some maintenance and work before a trip in a few weeks and found a birds nest inside the stock pin box. I'm going to put mesh or something over it, but does someone have an ingenious solution?

Thanks.

Lots of solutions here. Do a Search on "bird nest" and you will see. Here are some examples.

If you aren’t going to be using your camper in the next few weeks leave it alone and the little ones will leave.

After finding a sparrow nest in ours, made up a piece of plywood as a cover and held in place with some rare earth magnets from ebay. I added a knob left over from some other project. This has worked in this and the last 5er. You may have to do a little fussing to make it fit around the pigtail. Fitted wire mesh will work too, but the plywood was easier for me

I like this idea. I don't want to lose the storage for the plug and breakaway cable.

Over the years, we have had Road Runners try and nest in there when we're in NM.
