I was in a local lumberyard/hardware store the other day where I noticed that they had a display of Intervac Designs central vacuum cleaners (the maker of the Dometic vac.). They had a powerhead for the same unit that we have in the trailers. The store I was in was called TimbrrMart, which might be a Canadian chain, but I have also seen them at Home Depot. See http://www.intervacdesign.com/catego...ccessories.htm for more details.

We tried several vacuum powered heads last year in our SOB and without fail none of them worked that well. Even with high vacuum it doesnt take much resistance in the head to stop the brushes. We went with the intervac battery powered head. To put it mildly it totally kicks ass. The battery is good for 6 vacuumings before it needs a recharge. It costs 169.00, but at the cost for a new Hoover or Dyson the power head is a deal... Dave and Betsy

I second what Dave said, because of his suggestion we purchased the power head and I tried it for the first time today and it does kick ass (Thanks Dave). We both have the same combination of Labs and if your familiar with these dogs you need the strongest vac you can get and this one does the trick. Expensive but worth it!
