We are trying to make the best decision as we travel more .I have verizon and have used it for years, the price seems to be extremely high. For 2 of us it runs about 180 per mo. ,but the coverage is there when we need it. We also have jet pack that we will be using more . We are open for suggestions Thanks Jerome&Judy.

Jerome & Judy,
Look at the coverage maps for the different providers, compare to where you spend the most time and then pick a service.

I have ATT, 5 phones for 188 a month. Since im a unlimited subscriber im getting 35 a month off DirecTV Now, so for me its a win win I can take my TV with me and stream all I want (Directv Now) with no caps or limits, I connect my phone to the TV, thats it, just in case im getting the Verizon Pre paid jet pack which is unlimited, my sons friend is manager at the local Verizon store, I figure with that all my TV and internet needs are covered. Worse case if there is no ATT service but Verizon service I can turn on the jetpack and connect my phone to make calls...

Internet Data Access is the correct header - lots of information about costs and systems - sorry I'm not good enough to post the direct link to string

It really depends on where you travel. We've had Verizon for years and yes it is expensive but there are two places we spend a lot of time that even AT&T doesn't have good coverage.

$188 sounds like you are paying for the phones in that price. I had about the same pricing $185 but I soon found that by paying off the phones the pricing went to $136.
I once had AT&T and DW had Verizon but when we started traveling I found that to get dependable service I would forward my AT&T phone her Verizon phone.
Oh and the AT&T phone was a company phone that’s why we were not both on Verizon.
My personal thoughts are cost is secondary. If I have a great low price but don’t have dependable service what is the point of the low price or having the phone at all?

No, I dont finance my phones I purchase them outright. The plan I’m on is the current unlimited plan, and again that’s 5 phones. Where I live att is good and I don’t have an issue, but traveling the country there will be dead zones in each carrier, that’s why I feel having the Verizon Jetpack I can cover myself with 2 carriers while taking my TV with me.
I guess there’s always sat phones and internet

Here is everything you ever wanted to know about RV'ing and mobile Internet and Cell service. We have followed Chris & Cherie for years and have saved a ton of money. We currently have AT&T 500 gig streaming (yes 500 gig) AT&T cell service, Verizon Jet Pack, and Verizon Cell, and pay $200 a month for all. We also have Direct TV Now, Netflix, and Amazon Fire TV - all stream off the AT&T. We have never had a problem with buffering - we have the Booster

We have been a lot of places and Verizon has the coverage. $180 sounds high with phones paid for. Check your data usage for the past few months. If you use less than you are paying for, cut back on the data plan. Otherwise, you are getting what you are paying for with Verizon.

We have 4 Verizon lines, 2 smart phones, jet pack and home phone connect with unlimited everything $172 a month. If you have an old plan go to the Verizon store and see what a new plan would be.

All I can say is we've had AT&T for more years than I can recall. Today I'm paying for two phones and a separate hot spot (battery on that lasts a whole lot longer than a phone!) with a 20GB plan. We don't use that much data when at home and the roll over stuff works very well - we've at 50GB now and will have more when we hit the road in June. Monthly bill has been right around $160 for over a year.
As to coverage; back when I was working in telcom, this was a big thing. Today it's next to nothing unless you live in a dead spot - which we actually do as far as AT&T goes. About six years back they GAVE us a broadband phone extender as they had no plans to put a tower in our back yard. Interestingly enough, today we've three to four bars most places save our basement.
In the past six years, we've been from Virginia to the South East, South West, the California coast, the North West, through Michigan to Ontario, through New York to Quebec, NB and back through New England and very, VERY seldom not had coverage. There will always be some place nothing works, but overall I all I believe is shop for your best deal and ignore the hype.

Verizon has a low cost plan for long time subscribers but they don't advertise it. I use to have to increase my plan to 5g when at camp for the summer. I called Verizon customer service and told them I needed to lower my costs. The said because I had been with them a long time they could put both of my phones on a plan with unlimited talk, text and data for $82.00 a month. But you have to ask. I have found Verizon to work where most other carriers don't.

If your phones are recent, skip the jet pack. Use your phones as a hotspot.
We use Verizon. 4 lines (2 phones, 2 tablets) for about $150 month. 20 GB internet. If we run low on internet, we find a Starbux or something.
