5er Hitch

Has anyone ever pulled their hitch out of the bed of the TV with the pin box and if so, what has been the longest time you left it hang there?

I think last year there were post on this. There did not seem to be any issues with doing that and the comments were made that you tow with the pin what can hurt it with hanging the hitch on it.

There would only be one drawback that I can see and that is you don't want to walk close to it or it may bite you. I have a bad habit of walking too close to the king pin or turning right into it and gashing my head open. Of course with the hitch hanging on the king pin you wouldn't have that problem. Go for it.

I would definitely put a lock on it though!

Taking the hitch out seems pretty easy and straight forward. Lining it up with the truck to put it back in seems that it might be problematic.

I hang our hitch on the kingpin most of the time. It's not a hassle put it back in the bed either. Just get it close, ease it down, and unhitch it. Then pull the TV forward and slide it in place. I was lucky when we moved on Sept 1, I hit the slots perfectly, but couldn't get the pins in without unhitching the fiver so I could wiggle the hitch around.
