toilet paper

I can't find the thread on what type of toilet paper to use. Tired of paying a fortune for tiny rolls. I think I remember that we can use 1 ply Scott TP. Will anything work that is used for only septic systems? Thanks

Most recommend Angel Soft. You can get it at Wally World.
Hope this helps

We use any type of TP we have available. We do not put Kleenex type tissues or paper-towels, however the grandkids did and we had no problem just took longer for the sewer solution to break it up. We do not use any chemicals either. No smell and never a problem. Been RVing since 1968.

Angel Soft. Just about any store.

You can test the TP. Get a clear glass and fill it with water. Take one sheet of TP and place it in the water. Swirly gently. Watch to see if it breaks up into small pieces. Eventually it will dissolve to mush. If it doesn't, don't use it.

I have a clear elbo on the sewer line. I never see a clump of TP come out. It is always dissolved.

Edited: Spelling.

We have used Angel Soft for almost 10 years of full timing. It meets the "shake test." What do I mean? Take a glass of water, put in one sheet of your 2-ply toilet paper and shake. Does the paper break up and simply dissolve? If not, then buy a brand that does. But by all means, you do not need to buy the toilet paper sold at Camping World.

I have been recommending Angel Soft to everyone I can and everyone that has switched have told me they were glad they did. When we dump our black water holding tank we never see any semblance of toilet paper going through the clear elbow we have in the sewer line.

We are also in the Angel Soft group. There was an article recently (but I forgot where it was) where some group tested different toilet papers for various things, one being how fast it breaks up in water. Angel Soft was one of the best ones. I think Charmin was one of the lower rated ones, although not that bad as I recall.

Scott for us but not the one ply... We use the extra soft and triple roll. It says septic safe on the package and dissolves very fast.

I have been buying the special RV TP at Wal-mart. I will have to swallow my pride and admit that my DW was right when she said we should not have to purchase "special toilet paper". We will buy Angel soft next time. Thanks for the info.

The Angel Soft package states "Septic Safe." Those are the key words on any TP you purchase, but there are some that state that and are actually less than can be desired. The water test is the best method to check any brand.

We like Angel Soft but I might add that there is a difference within the Angel Soft brand. All of them probably are safe for RV use but, knowing that every hiney is different and probably differs in sensitivity, I found I do not like the texture of the Angel Soft Mega Roll. We use the double roll instead. Just a rather personal opinion.
