Hot water by pass ???????????

I got the new monty out today getting ready for this coming weekend and everything looking good until the hot water. Turned the water on flush out the red stuff and went to fill the hot water tank. Nothing
Checked everything and all looks well. Turned the bypass on and off still nothing.
Any ideas?????????

Did you operate the pressure relief valve, then remove the anode? This might tell you if there is water in the heater. Also, there may be an electric heater switch on the heater that needs to be turned on before the interior electric heater switch will have any effect.

Yes the anode was already out. No water at all. I do not turn on the heater until I am sure that water is in the tank.

Exnavydiver had a valve break. That would be my next suggestion. Check the valve. You can turn off te water, relieve pressure inside then unscrew the outside cap for valve and remove both. Once valve is out apply a little water pressure and see if it flows out the bypass valve opening. When you pull valve you know if it is broken.
