Follow-up on Porter Cable Compressor thread

Went to the rig today at the mini-storage to add some air to the 614's. I was equipped with a Honda 2000 generator and the Porter Cable 150 psi, 6 gallon pancake compressor. Could have used the built-in Onan, but didn't feel like going to the trouble of priming, etc. Was very impressed with the performance of the PC compressor. Temperature was a little below forty degrees and the tire pressure as measured ranged from 86 psi to 90 psi. Since the temp was a little on the cool side, decided to inflate the tires to 100 psi and will monitor the pressure tomorrow on a service trip to the dealer (45 minutes). It took less than three minutes to raise each tire to the 100 psi level. I am very happy with this performance and like others have mentioned, I believe I have finally made a good choice on the compressor for the rig.

I bought the same compressor a few years ago for maintaining the inflation in the TV and Monty. We also keep the G614's at 100psi as a happy medium to allow for warm to cold weather. The TPMS gives me a good idea of pressure variance in the tires as temperature changes.
The Porter Cable also does well with a nail gun for fine to moderate woodworking assembly and trim work around the house.

Have had one for about six years and agree with all of the above.

I did'nt know if I should take our PC compressor with us on our first trip. Due to the site & the encourgement of you folks, it's one of the best things i did. Seems I have a leak in one of the Monty's tires & needs additional air every day, for 60lbs to 80lbs.
As soon as we get to Phoenix I'll have the tire fixed.

If you are losing 20psi every day, you may want to consider getting that tire looked at before you move it....

Hey Larry, if you are coming down I-10, or as they call it around the 'The 10', stop at Tonopah, there is a big tire repair shop here, I have got to know the owner, he will fix it for you in a snap. He has a huge lot you can pull in, then you can drive 1/2 mile and stay the night here in Saddle Mountain RV Resort.
We pulled in for the night, now this is our second season.

Bingo, your compressor sounds the same as the one I've used for probably 7 years or so. It has never failed me and is used to take our G614's to 110 psi. Sometimes I lower the truck tires from 80 (rear tires) to 50 if we're in a rough road area for more than a few days. When ready to air it back up it gets back to 80 in maybe 20 seconds or so, from 50 psi. It takes some room in the basement but it has been the best compressor I've ever had.
