2011 F350 flash
Had the new flash done to my F350 yesterday and drove about 250 miles each way. No noticeable difference in any way. Was not towing and have not with this truck yet. Guess the HP was increased and torque came along with it.

added info:
Already boasting class-leading payload and towing, Ford has now increased the 2011 F-Series Super Duty's engine output to ensure it has class-leading numbers in all areas. Originally launched with 390-hp and 735 ft-lbs of torque, Ford is upgrading the truck to deliver 400-hp and 800 ft-lbs of torque. Better yet, owners who already purchased one of the lower-output 2011 models will be able to get a free upgrade from their Ford dealer.
"These numbers are impressive, yes, but that is not why they matter," Samardzich said. "These numbers matter because our customers say they do. The higher torque means that fleet operators, such as Florida Power & Light, can plow through deep swamps and get to downed power lines faster and more confidently. It means that oil and gas crews in the Northwest can tow up an 8,000-foot grade maintaining a steady speed and using less fuel."
In addition, F-350 dual rear-wheel (DRW) models will get upgrades that include an increased max payload from 6,520 to 7,070 and a max fifth-wheel tow rating set at 22,600 lbs, up from 21,600 lb.

With a re flash?
And this is exactly why I look at discussions of somebody overloading their truck a few hundred pounds and scratch my old bald head. I increased the HP of my truck from 350 to 580+ the TK from 650 to 1200+. Did this increase what I could Safely tow, don't think so! This brings up the next questing. Who sets the tow and weight limits, engineering or marketing? The fifth wheel tow rating of my truck is 15200 pounds. Can I safely tow that? UMMM depends. On a deserted 4 lane highway at 40 mph, yes, On a crowded 4 lane at 70, ain't no way. Maybe marketing needs to add something they may not be capable of that we can add, common sense.

I don't understand how a flash can upgrade your payload by 550# & towing capacity by 1000#.

The reflash does not increase payload/tow capacity. Job 2 DRW trucks will benefit from frame improvements which will increase payload and tow capacities. These increases will not be available to job 1 owners.
The reflash is available to job 1 owners, it increases hp to 400hp and 800ft/lbs of torque and a slight increase in mpg.

On the way up to my dealer to get my re-flash I got 21.5 mpg and on the way home after the re-flash I got 22.4, a far cry from my old 6.4, around town I am getting around 17. I did notice that after the flash the shifting was a lot smother.

That's pretty slow! Thought the 2011s would be faster than that!

I flashed my Chevy and nothing happened, then I took my camera out and flashed it and still nothing. My DW says no way will she flash the truck so I guess I am out of luck......

PatnRich, have you had the re-flash done on your truck yet? If so have you seen a difference in fuel economy?

Phil,
Oh my! That poor truck! I'm surprised the thing didn't just fall apart when you "flashed" it! I don't dare do that to my very sensitive Ford. I know it would never run again!
Keep on enjoying.

Mark and Anna,
No I haven't, have you? I'm waiting for a few more miles on the odometer to make one trip in, reflash, oil change and top off def.
Early upgrade reports are promising.

PatnRich,
Not yet. Kinda looking at the same thing you are. First oil change and do the rest. My dealer gives free oil changes for life, free re-flash (i hear it's free) so that's a pretty good deal.
And yes, the early reviews do sound promising.
