Ram 3500 brakes

I have a 2014 SRW towing a 2016 3160. It always seemed to not have the braking power it should. For half the cost of trailer disk brakes, I put EBC yellow stuff brake pads with vented, slotted and dimpled rotors on the truck. It isn't as effective as traiker disk brakes but driving solo is like driving a car. It was a good modification for improved loaded and unloaded braking power. Good enough to use now unless I can talk the DW into full timing it. Then the disks are going on.

I agree the Ram's have terrible brakes and you might have better stopping power with the Ram brake mod but nothing is better than the trailer disc brakes. With my exhaust brake and disc , nothing else compares when stopping your rv. Stopping solo it sounds like you found a good solution.

Two years ago we split a brake line on the trailer and our Ram did a good enough job by it'self that I didn't realise I didn't have trailer brakes.
