No door latch
We have a 2022 295RL. There is no latch or clip for the main door to stay open. When the wind blows the wrong way it shuts. I’m thinking someone fell asleep and forget that step during the build? Or is that the design? Regardless, any recommendations for an “after market” solution?

They don't put them on anymore with the new friction hinge they are using on the door.
Instead of the plastic T clip, I used one of these magnetic door stops so I can pull the door shut from inside without having to go down the steps and unhook it.

If you choose to go this route, be aware that the magnetic piece on the stopper will rust. I coated mine with clear nail polish to prevent the rust.

I am going to install this. One of these holds the swim ladder cover closed on our boat and the rubber portion wore out and wouldn’t hold the cover secure anymore (20 years old) I bought 2 with the idea that I would use one on the camper door.

Just about a month ago I added the T-catches on both my doors. I should have done that 5 years ago on this camper. All the best "engineering" in the world for these doors fails miserably in the real world environment. Quite obvious, the buffoon who designed these hinges and the bigger buffoons at Keystone who decided to incorporate them probably never spent a single hour in any camper.... especially in the real world, stuck in some office too long and has no clue how windy it really is.

I have purchased a t latch to install on our door ( friction hinge , blech ). It came with no installation screws. I was thinking self tapping stainless steel screws. But, what have others used? And how long should I use? How thick is that wall? What about the door itself, etc? Any thoughts gang?

I bought one also but haven't installed it yet. The outer walls should be 2 inches thickness. I had planned to use 1 1/4 inch screws and use silicone in the holes as well.

Sticky no holes version?
Funny we were just taking about this. I don’t want to put in holes/screws. Sure it be fine but wonder if I could clean are and use stick on. Doubled sided tape.
Like these. https://www.amazon.com/Crosize-Magne...zcF9hdGY&psc=1

I actually have that exact one from Amazon. Don't waste your money. It worked well for a little while then started to rust and the magnet no longer holds the door at all. That's why I ordered a stainless T latch.

After some more reading on this board, I think I am going to go with "Rivnuts."
Stronger than screws so hopefully will not pull out.

I would use Jack Nuts for fasteners if you don't have a wall stud to anchor the door holder into with screws. Use a stud finder to see if there is a wall stud where you want to mount it. The dew on the wall early in the morning will also show you where the wall studs are.

I installed a couple baggage door magnets. So far they have worked great.

Ours came with friction hinges. They never gave us any trouble but over time the friction got weaker and weaker. Now non-existent.
I've heard varying accounts of how well the hinges have worked and how long the friction lasted. Are yours still working as they should?
