Shore Power Tripping
Oh how I love fighting RV gremlins...
2020 legacy with gen prep and factory surge protection. I’m also running a southwire 50 amp surge protector but currently plugged into 30 amp receptacle.
Continuously having intermittent power outages inside the RV (surge protector showing between 15-20 amps). Lights flick off and on and I can hear clicking noise from the power center in the basement area. Each time I check my external surge protector and it has not “tripped” or sensed a surge. Starting to think it has more to do with the RV rather than the post.
Anybody have any ideas or troubleshooting I can do?? It’s getting to be very annoying.

Since you have the Gen Prep Option, means you should have an Automatic Transfer Switch. Check other posts, sounds like there might be a bad batch of Xfer Switches out there.

Yea lots of reports of bad ATS modules. Usually after a loss of power, but maybe yours is getting some practice in before a complete failure. Hunt it down and listen. If it is clicking that is likely your problem.

Thanks for the help... I’m thinking that’s exactly what it is.
You guys mentioned a manual reset... how do I do this? Is there a reset on the transfer switch itself??

So I’ve uncovered the transfer switch and when I put a load on the unit (ie water heater to electric) the switch starts clicking on and off continuously until I turn the load off.
Is it possible to reset this or is the switch shot??

Had the same issue with my 3931 FB. If you have a pre wired unit for a generator the transfer switch will try to turn on the generator for additional power in high usage mode.
If you don't have a generator the transfer switch will trip the main breaker when trying to activate. The main breaker is behind the black wall in the bay.
Had a mobile tech disconnect the switch. He said a very common problem when on shore power. No problems since then. Hope this helps!

Could also simply be poor shore power that is dipping every time someone’s AC kicks on or someone starts another hi amp device.

Possible,
However, it happened in several rv parks.
The transfer switch was fried when the technician removed the switch. No problems since last Oct.
