Solar invertor issues

Having issues with the invertor kicking off/beeping. We have solar panels. Can not figure out why this keeps happening?

How long should we be able to run the refigerator only off the solar panels if fully charged?

Don't have a problem with the power working when hooked up to the truck.

The solar does not run the refer. All the solar does is charge the battery. The battery (hopefully *BATTERIES*!!!!!) run the refer. If the inverter is kicking off/beeping it likely is due to low voltage. When on shore power the batteries are bypassed.


How many batteries do you have?
What voltage do the have when shore power is removed?
How long do you run the refer on battery before it kicks out/beeps?

With Lp off and running on the inverter, our 3120 draws about 45 amps at 12v from the batteries.

Yeah, most likely low voltage cutoff. You need a battery monitor to be certain. You can run appliances directly from solar, no batteries needed. Most home installations are wired this way. Your RV is not.

How long you can run off your solar setup is a mathematical equation. In short, it's your available battery amp hours divided by the sum of your demand plus your solar production. That would look something like 100AH/(-35AH + 10AH)= 4 hours. Substitute your actual numbers.

1. Check the fuse from between the solar and the battery. It should be a
30a blade fuse within 18" of the battery. It will be in a red fuse holder.

2. Check that solar charger is "ON". in the lower left hand corner of the
remote it should sas "BLK" "ABS" or "FLT". If it says OFF, hit the power
button.

3. What's the voltage reading in the upper left of the solar remote? It
should be above 28v in good sun. If it's down near the battery voltage
you may have a bad connection.

For as much as these rigs are dependent now on battery power. They really should be coming with a battery monitor installed to let you keep an eye on whats going on. Not just something that measures voltage, but one of the shunted units... Renogy... or for more $$ a victron.

I put a little cheapy Renogy clone in mine, and it works great. Just something to keep an eye on whats happening. I recently had an electrical storm ( go figure Florida ) and the EMS shut the leg off that was on the converter. So nothing was being charged even though everything was plugged in, fridge on...ect. I caught it because I noticed my batteries were not being charged. Just saying, its a good investment.
