Need help with solar/new rig.

Hello all. Brought home our 2025 385BR yesterday and have a few questions. I'm new to solar, got the 400i package with lithium batteries. During PDI the tech said when I store it and not using it and not plugged in to shore power, to leave the solar on, and batteries off. I made sure this is what he said. When we're plugged in to shore power at campground, he said to turn the batteries on and turn solar off as to not overcharge the batteries. Is this correct?

Also, if I want to run the residential fridge the day before a trip, wouldn't I turn on solar and batteries to run the fridge?

Like I said, new to solar. Had a Jayco 5th wheel for five years but didn't have solar. Any advice will be helpful, thanks.

I always leave solar on, the charge converter will protect your batteries. I do turn batteries off in storage. You want solar and battery on to travel.

Ok, that's what I was thinking that the charge controller would protect the batteries.
