Mattress

Has anyone gotten a new Montana and used the mattress that came with it, on one side it's firm and one side it's softer?

I would never use the sperm side!! Stick with the soft side. Sorry couldn't resist
The factory mattress is firm on 1 side and soft on the other. DW and I use the soft side with a good mattress topper. We love it and have 1 at home on our sleep number. .

OMG! I had to edit the original post! I was in a hurry and dictated it without reviewing what I had posted! I think we're gonna swap our Jayco mattress out with the new Montana mattress. Just a quick laydown on the new Montana mattress didn't really do it for me. But I wanted to hear what others say about that flippable mattress. Never seen one like this.

We still have the one that came in our 2019. If it is softer on one side, I sure couldn't tell it. After 2 nights, we were nearly crippled. I purchased one of the best 4" topper with a 2" pillow top and it is at least bearable now. Certainly not like the sleep number in the S&B.

Yea, I think we're gonna swap out our old mattress in our Jayco and put it in the Montana at PDI.

In our current Montana we used the original mattress for a year before replacing it. It actually was a pretty decent mattress as far as comfort goes. I never attempted to flip it over though.

We eventually went with a new mattress when the original started shredding. Literally, the cloth material covering the springs, literally, shredded.

I can’t remember which side we went with. I know we tried both knowing 1 was soft and the other was harder. Thinking we went with hard side?????

It probably is a decent mattress. But we sleep so well on the Jayco one, I think it's a Sealy or Beautyrest. Would hate to give it up and realize we made a mistake.

What Ever Works

Totally up to you what you prefer and works
for you. We used the hard side and bought a topper at Costco. Perfect for us

We have a 2022 3121RL and the first night we slept in the new rig it was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood (maybe we had firm side up). So the next day we went an bought a good topper and it made it tolerable but we have since replaced it with a Brooklyn Bed mattress which is a much improved sleep.

When I bought the camper, it came with a new memory foam mattress but it was still uncomfortable so I bought a queen size topper at Walmart that I love called the Allswell Pillow Top so all you may need to do is get this pillow top or they make egg crate foam ones at Walmart that work well too as I have tried those as well. Good luck
