Slide cable broke and disappeared

I havwe a 3730 FL 2018 model. We had a new cable installed on the top-in segment of the bedroom slide system a few years ago. The cable stays were adjusted to align the cable trajectory and prevent future problem on that cable. Packing up from a trip this weekend I discovered the top cable (viewed from the ouside of the slide) was missing. The slide moved in ok, but when viewed from the inside the top cable is still there. I discovered the top -in cable had broken just beneath the pulley it tracks on. My question: where does that cable connect? Is there a place that it ties into behind the plastic cable cover? If so, how to access? Apparently I will have to replace tha cable but I am confounded over what attaches to.
I have been watching several videos on the system but have not found one that addresses my issue.
Thanks in advance,
Max

I had to replace two of our cables three months ago on our bedroom slide. You will need to remove the top valance from inside the RV on the slide you need to replace the cable on. Behind that is all the cabling and the motor. I had a helper and it took about 4 hours to replace both cables. It can be a little tricky, but it is doable if you are mechanically inclined! This is a link to the cable I bought and they worked perfectly. I purchased this cable from Amazon:

One picture shows the bedroom slide from the outside (standing on stairs looking towsards the rear - NO CABLE VISIBLE) while the other is just inside the doorway looking at the slide from the inside (CABLE VISIBLE). Both of these are the top corner cable of the slide room - I found the broken cable above the closet (behind the face board) but can't figure out what the broken cable attaches to.
Any ideas? Apologies for picture orientation... don't know howe to fix that ...

Unfortunately I did not take pictures after I removed the facia board. Behind the board you will see 4 cables and a motor. There are 4 cables, top/bottom/right/left. Basically each corner of the slide. You will use the old broken cable to pull the new cable into the RV from the outside. It uses a turnbuckle type system to take the slack out of the cables once reinstalled. You will also need a crimping tool. I will attach a picture that shows what is behind the facia.

Thank you. Good explanation. I understand what you explained - I am just baffled why only one cable appears to be going through to the other side but the broken cable can't go through the same hole as the one that appears to go through the wall. (Hard to explain) LSS is that the repair guy came today and I had to be gone when he came so I didn't get to see the routing of the broken cable. There will be other opportunites I am sure
Thanks, Max

Amazon has the cables and tools. You will need a crimp tool and something to cut the cable when it is installed. Hint- purchase a good cable cutter for the purpose. It will make life much easier

This is the swage crimp tool I bought. It is big and expensive, but what you need to crimp the big ferrules onto the cables and has a built in cable cutter.

Your local Home Depot or Lowe's should have a swaging tool too. Additionally, I have used 1/4 or 5/16 inch cable clamps on a past 5er as well. Somewhere in storage along with my 3-4 spare cables I have a bag of about 20 just for that purpose but never needed another repair on the now sold High Country.
