2019 3731 - no door external latches
I just realized my almost new 3731 has no external door latches, allowing them to move around/contact the sides or awning support during a strong breeze. I recall the salesman saying the hinges have some built in stop but mine dont seem to work. Is this a common issue?

Yes. And we installed the standard latches available at any RV store, Amazon carries several choices, metal, black, white. I installed the six inch metal version, paid around 8 bucks.

It's on my list of things to do, but so far ours are working as designed and we haven't found the need to do it yet. The odd part is that we spend most of our time in Kansas and New Mexico so wind is a problem frequently.

Our Friction hinges work fine, very convenient. If they become weak, I will install latches

I installed a latch on my rig. Don’t want the door to slam on greatgrand kids little fingers.

Thanks for the replies. I dont like idea of the doors being able to move so much, from almost closed to full open so will get some latches. After several return trips to the dealer (bad motor and out of alignment slides, trim falling off, converter wiring not connected, drain valves mislabeled, ACs refusing to work unless thermostat get reset and much more), I am starting to wonder if Keystone gets anything right the first time and what else is about ready to fail. I realize RVs require work/effort but you'd think more of it would be good from the factory.
