marabombs my turn too
We just had our first close encounter with a marebomb too last week. A football shaped extrusion of rubber pushed out the inside sidewall. Luckily, it didn't blow out and cause damage. We kept being told by passers by that there was a problem with the tire. I got out and looked several times and checked the pressure and all was good. we never realized the damage was there cause it was on the inside and barely visable and drove about 45 minutes more in that condition. Lesson learned---check both sides of the tire!!

Good advice as many of us would not have thought to check the inside! Glad you got lucky and thanks for sharing. Jim

Glad it worked out for you. If it's the sidewalls, they don't always cooperate and make it easy to find the disaster about to happen.

These "Marabombs" should not be on any Montana sold, plain and simple a horrible tire.

Fingers (still) crossed here with my Marathons. I have the Firestone Transforce H/T on my truck. They seem like a decent tire, no problems. I'll be switching to LT's on the camper as soon as reasonably possible. Glad nothing catastrophic happened to you.
