The most chair I have ever purchased

The most expensive chair I have ever bought.

I'm fairly new to the MOC. The way we found out about it was by a man who saw us pull into a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. He asked if I belonged to the Montana Owner's Club. I told him I didn't know about it. He proceeded to explain how to join. I'm really glad he did. We have been rving for 39 years. On several of our trips I kept noticing the Montana fifth wheels and admiring them.
After spending a month in Montrose, Colorado, we returned to our home in East Tex. I saw an add in Camping World for a chair I wanted. So, we went to the nearest CW to buy it. My wife enjoys looking at new rv's and wanted to look at the one's there at CW. The gates were closed so we left. But right next to CW was a Montana Dealership, RV Station in Tyler, Tex. We pulled in and my wife started going through every fifth wheel there. We currently owned a Hitchhiker II. She fell in love with a 37 ft. 2018 HM 345 RL. We bought it the very next day. That was the most expensive chair I have ever bought. We are now full timers for the last 2 yrs. and loving it. John Curbo

Hope you don't think you've through spending money. When you buy an rv and especially when you get on this forum you 'REALLY' spend money. I don't have the problems many r-vers have on account i seem to spend a lot of money improving mine by hearing others problems. Has anyone said these are a 'Money Pit'? Welcome and safe travels.

Know what you mean. We were in a RV park in Nashville when I went next door and looked at 5ers. Found one I really liked Wife and SIL went with me that afternoon and fell in love with it. DW said I could live in this. Did not buy there but started the ball rolling. Went home to South Texas, put our house on the market Now full timing a little over 2 years

We went to RV Station in Tyler to buy and $8 furnace exhaust wheel and did the same thing. We also had a Hitchhiker II, however, We found a 3813 MS that they gave us an awesome price on, but we wanted the RV refrigerator which they didn’t have. Short story, we now own a 3812 MS that we bought in Georgetown. We’ve been self quarantined at Lake Hawkins for the last three weeks and are loving our new “Lake House” Welcome to the forum. Lots of good people here. Happy Trails.

Welcome to the forum! I love your story!
Your post and G&S Russell’s post are talking about places we are very familiar with! Both DW and I grew up in East TX (Tyler and Henderson) and when I met Debbie she was the new HOT first grade teacher at Hawkins Elementary. We spent lots of time out at the lake. My info says “Austin” but we are really located in Williamson County (Wier-Granger area)...not too far from Crestview RV. We bought ours from the Fort Worth dealer because I was on temporary assignment up there at the time.

Mikndebbie, we have a hook up at a friend's place just South of Palestine. We lived in Palestine for 28 yrs. we sold our home and travel in the Summer and in the winter. We come back to Palestine in the Fall and Spring to see our Dr's. We use our daughter's address in Round Rock, Tx. Right now we are hunkered down here in Palestine until the virus goes away.

Footz 1941, your experience is very similar to ours. It was overwhelming getting rid of 50 years of stuff. Thank goodness we have 4 kids to take a lot of our stuff. Where in South Tx did you live? I grew up in Pharr, Tx.in the Rio Grande Valley.

Lived in Alamo for 10 years. Wife’s late husband was from Pharr. His mother taught school for PSJA. From Kansas City originally. Had a house in KC area a house in Alamo and a RV. Whatever we wanted was always somewhere else. Sold both houses, bought a bigger 5er and hit the road. No regrets

Back in October 2011 I bought a $10 lube plate that cost us only $48,000.

We had a similar experience many years ago. We were actually camping in our pop-up at a KOA. We thought it would be fun to visit a local RV dealership that was about 5 miles from the campground. We went. That same night we broke camp, packed up the pop-up, went back to the dealership and came back to the same campground that evening with a brand new travel trailer. Yep, you gotta watch those expenses when you go "window shopping."

Congrats on your new camper!

Oil change can get very expensive also if you have it done at a dealership and make the mistake of drifting out to look at the new trucks while they are changing your oil. Yep, very expensive mistake. I don’t do that any more.

Jtcurbo,
While you are in Palestine, go to the Oxbow and get you a pie. They are delicious. We spent a long weekend at a B&B in Palestine. Great town with long interesting history.
