Dometic 320

Was wondering if anybody installed a Dometic 320 toilet in a 375FLF, want to replace existing toilet, but not sure if the 320 will fit, may have to go with the 310! Thanks!!

Why would you think it may not fit? Too little room in the front or back?? If you have 10.5" from the center of the bolts to the wall, it will fit from the rear.

Hey Golfmedik! Thanks for the quick reply, the current Thetford sits with it's back in the corner with very little space behind it, no problem in front as the front is angled towards the middle of the room, will measure from bolt holes to "both walls" making up corner, Thanks again!

I think there are installation manuals on Dometic site. It has a nice diagram of how much space to the wall, sides, and I think the front.

McRod and mazboy, Thanks guys! If I can just get one more measurement I think I will be ok! On the 320, I need the distance from the bolt holes to the back of the pedestal! My water line is coming through a hole only about one inch behind the pedestal of the Thetford, am hopeing the Dometic pedestal is no "deeper/longer" than one on the Thetford! Any help would be great! Thanks!

The only difference between the Thetford and the 310/320 toilets is the water inlet on the Thetford is at the left rear but the 310/320 water inlet is at the right rear. You may need to do a little replumbing to bring the water line over on the new toilet.

rohrmann Thank You! Was wondering about that! Actually the Thetford I have has the water inlet directly in the middle, and from pictures I can tell the dometic is on the right, as the pex does not bend, I think you are right. I also have a white plastic "ring" around the pex where it comes through the floor, it is about 1/4 inch behind the pedestal of the thetford, guess I cut trim a little of that off if I have to. Thanks again!

And get a brass one. The plastic shut-off in our 1/2 bath leaked!

I added a shutoff valve and got a standard toilet connection hose that would screw on to the toilet, if my memory serves me. That gives you a nice 18" to fit it anywhere you like, I think. By the way, I had never used (or heard of) pex before. Went to Home Depot and spoke with a guy. He said he wished they had it when he worked in his younger days, it is so easy. I bought a removal tool while there in case it goes bad at some point. But boy is it easy to attach. They even had a little display to test a connection on. Really nice.

twindman! Thanks! That is my plan, toilet connection hose, and maybe a double male 1/2 inch connecter on one end, I have never worked with pex either, understand it is easy, at 73 I am still learning! lol Thanks again!

I am also 73 and I just installed mine about 2 years ago. Mine wasn't holding water after about 6 weeks, and I would clean it every week or so. I just removed the gasket in the toilet and cleaned it and reinstalled. Haven't had a problem for 1 1/2 years. I do use a little plumbers grease on the seal/gasket at the start of the season now. There is a video on Dometic site (or maybe youtube) that shows how to remove the seal. Basically just reach into the toilet and pull it out - just don't drop it!!!

twindman! Good info! I think that may have been the problem that started this upgrade, I was flushing the antifreeze out of the rig and getting ready for a season that we may not have now, when I pushed down the handle to flush the old Thetford, heard a "snap", now the ball valve is open and obviously something broke, either had froze or maybe the seal was stuck. We were wanting to upgrade anyway, so this will push me to do it!! LOL Thanks!

When I installed a 320 I put in a 1/4 turn shut off valve and used a steel braided flex hose with a connector that had a click fitting similar to a gas cap to prevent over tightening. Got the parts at HD
