Furnace Intermittant

While camping in Central Texas, noticed the furnace would sometimes fail to light and after a few tries would lock out. Checked the normal stuff, tanks, found out how to check manifold pressure, no spark, sail switch okay, etc. After using the fireplace (it was only low of 39) for couple days and fooling around, found the stacon spade connectors on the limit switch were corroded enough to have high resistance. You need a long pair of needle nose to reach it. Once those were clean, all was good. Those little spades are somewhat exposed to the outside environment and only 12 volt so easy to get low voltage across if slight oxidation. Just a heads up for the MOC folks.

Good reminder to check the easy things first. It's nice when it's a simple fix...frustrating when it takes a couple days to figure it out. Thanks for the heads up.

So I have sort of the same issue. 2020 Montana high country 362RD. The furnace blower will start but then it won’t light and after about 30 seconds the blower shuts off and it flashes an error code. I go out reset the blower and it will run the blower for 30 seconds and then quit. I finally started pulling wires off to check power and I removed 1 wire off the sail switch and then put it back on and the furnace lit and ran great. About every day this happens and I have to go out and repeat this process. Any ideas why this is happening and why would pulling off 1 wire and then putting it back reset everything?

Also the 15 amp fuse on the panel for the furnace will heat up and trip (Has a thermal fuse). Don’t understand why it’s doing this. I will remove the fuse, let it cool down to touch, put it back and then it doesn’t heat up

Any advice???

There are a few threads on water entering Atwood furnaces from the outside cover. Do a search.

Don't discount it anyway. We hadn't had any wet weather when we got our new unit, but it turned out that someone at the dealership used a pressure washer to clean it up before we did our PDI. Water came in through the vent over stove and water got into the furnace, too. May not be your issue, though.

C'mon it is not that cold here yet for the furnace. The Fireplace should be enough.

Thanks for the info
