slide switch & kids

Hey Keystone - I think it would be wise to place the switch for the slides away from childrens reach and not next to a light switch. I can not tell you how many times my kids have accidently hit the wrong switch.

I don't have kids of the two legged kind anyway - but I agree I have almost hit it by accident myself. There should be a cover over the switch so it can't be accidently pushed.

I have hit it on accident, but Paul was standing right next to where it started coming in. It hit him but thank goodness I realized what I had done and released the switch....Please reposition it out of the way...Maybe up high by the door and covered.

Yes that would be so nice for future owners of new Montana's. Maybe Keystone could come out with some kind of cover that would hide it, so accidents would not happen, for us owners that have the units now...I for one would be willing to even pay for such a cover. I so hope Keystone hears this...it is such a saftey issue.

My previous RV had a key that you had to insert into switch and turn to put slides in. That solved the little tikes curious hands and accidential flipping thinging it was a light switch.

Send a message via MSN to Parrothead
We toured a new Teton 5er yesterday - $90,000+. The slide switch was directly above the light switch at the front door. So even the big guys do it this way. You can buy covers for the switches so if you have problem that might be your solution.
Happy trails.....................

I put an out door light switch cover over ours from home depot. Now you have to lift it up to operate the slide. Jack
