Furrion 12v DC Fridge in 2024 3123RL

Just wanted to give a warning to anyone with or considering a new Monty with this fridge. Mine was making a noise like a helicopter but when it went back to dealer, of course it was fine. This is a brand new 5er on our maiden voyage and the attached photo shows what this fridge looks like in operation. The bonus coolers are because the only thing that operates in the fridge is the control panel. No lights, cold, etc. There are no blown fuses in the power center or on the fridge. It's just dead junk. I've had 5 trailers over 30 years and this is the first appliance failure. However, I still love this floorplan the rest of the trailer has been flawless. Now to see if Keystone will authorize a mobile RV Tech.

Craig, best of luck with the Furrion fridge repair. I winterized our 2024 3123RL today, except for the ice maker. There is a sticker next to the ice maker that says to drain it by opening the drain under the slide. Well, there is no drain for the ice maker line under the slide. I tried drawing in RV antifreeze with the water pump on, but nothing went into the ice maker. There is an icemaker valve under the kitchen sink and a second valve in the cabinet just left of the fridge which his hidden behind a thin panel that is a PIA to remove. If you get an RV tech to repair your Furrion 12VDC fridge, please ask him how to winterize the ice maker. Keep us posted. Thanks!

Following. I need to winterize my new Furrion ice maker too! And, thanks Ozzie, I hadn't found the valve below the kitchen sink yet! As a note, at least on my unit, the ice maker water hose is exposed under the slide. I would be quite easy to add a drain valve there.

I can't speak for your specific rigs, but mine has a compression type coupling below the refrigerator slide. It comes apart very easily and drains some of the water out. It may not fully drain all the water, but PEX pipe is very unlikely to freeze and burst with no pressure. You will need to turn the valve (below the kitchen sink) off. There is also a valve in the cabinet adjacent to the refrigerator in some units.

Update to winterizing the Furrion ice maker: I did get some clear ice cubes to drop overnight after I pressurized the water lines by turning on the water pump for a minute or so and then turned it off. I hooked up the winterizing fitting to a gallon of RV antifreeze again and got a few trays pink ice cubes the next day. We also have a compression coupling to the blue pex line exposed under the slide out along with a few feet of white flexible water hose in between the blue pex lines to the ice maker.

Hey Craig I just got my trailer out of the shop with that same problem and they had to replace a circuit board in fridge. I just picked it up the other day hopefully they said that will fix the problem.

Fridge winterize

I have the same refrgertor. After getting all the water out of the kitchen aink cold line, I let the compressor hooked up for about 2 hours, drain the water outlet next to the left door, and let it make ice until no more is made. I then disconnect the white line under the slid out and leave it open for a few days.

Hello and good day to all. This past summer while out with our current unit, I had a mobile tech come to reseal the toilet. I had asked him about the new 12volt fridge units and he said run away fast. Buy a couple years older to stay with gas/electric fridge he said. Then went on to say he was already seeing a bunch of failed units just out of warranty. Not sure how they will pan out in the long run. I'd prefer to stay gas/electric, but the industry has forced our hand if your buying new. Good luck.

as with any new tech, expect problems early.

For what we pay for the RV, I demand that they work out all the kinks before they sell it to us, nothing like a failure on a trip to ruin your day!

I have a similar fridge which has a circuit board with a fuse on top of the frig. Don’t know if that will help.

Hi,

bad luck with that fridge.
I had great success with Keystone authorizing Mobile Techs.

Ozzie,
This thread has gone towards service issues with the new 12V Furrion fridges, but I just wanted to say thanks on the winterizing tips. I found the under-sink as well as the in-wall valve. Glad I took the panel off at the wall, that connection was spewing antifreeze when I turned it on. Looked like they had just hand tightened it! At any rate, after powering back up the fridge, and leaving the pump on overnight I had a tray full of slushy antifreeze. I'm going to call it winterized!

Thanks again!

Mine is still dead and more troubleshooting up at camping world. They did some tests that Keystone requested and now waiting for warranty whatever is next. Happy with my brand new Keystone RV NOT!!!!!!! Fridge hasn't worked properly since delivery. I suppose I can keep using coolers when we head out again next month.

Well the fridge is still broken but between Camping World and Keystone, we were finally able to get a warranty "something" authorized. It sat at Camping World for a month supposedly getting worked on which turned out to be fake news. Anyway, some as yet mystical part is being shipped. I picked it up this weekend to get the RV winterized and found all the drains you did. I also opened up that line to the left of the fridge behind that PIA panel. Since my fridge is dead, I can't cycle the ice maker to fill it with antifreeze like the Furrion manual says.

Warning - even after draining that line under the kitchen slide, I still got lots of clear water out between the sink and the fridge. I think to be safe you have to open that line under the stove to the left of the fridge to fill it with anti-freeze because just doing the drain like the manual says doesn't allow it to fill with antifreeze. Hope that made sense. And one day, maybe my new under warranty RV will have a working fridge.
