Noisy Bedrooom A/C Unit Sound Reduction

In an effort to reduce the noise from our bedroom ac unit, I have installed sound foam in the discharge and intake of the unit. Have had some sound reduction, but the fan produces a high level of sound. Also opened up the discharge opening on each side of the frame to pass more air.

May try to install a different diffuser to see if that makes an improvement.

Any other suggestions or comments are welcome.

At night, I adjust thermostats so that the ducted AC provides bedroom cooling.

I would not put anything restrictive in the vents or ducts.

Also let the rear A/C cool the whole rig at night and turn off the bedroom A/C.

But if you camp near a Railroad track. You might want the bedroom A/C fan running all night, along with ear plugs. Like we do at the National Rally. :-)

The A/C is right over the bed just a few feet from us so it is noisy no matter what. We let the rear A/C do the cooling at night. The system is fully ducted so cooling does get to the bedroom.

All, tested a standard grill with movable vanes in place of the standard cover vent.
The sound reduction was a bit less, but the air volume was much better and
In my opinion the ducting installed in the unit is undersized and creates back presssue with reduced flow (need to locate a flow hood to really measure the differences). It is a shame the blower used is so loud overall but from the manufacture view I would guess they went for a compact fan over a larger one that wouldn't of been as noisy.
