Gas and diesel prices

Just curious. Diesel (here 30 miles north of Dallas) has gone up to 65-70 cents higher per gallon than regular gasoline. Is that typical over the rest of the country?

We’ve paid $2.69 to $3.24 per gallon on our travels in November. I always feel good to get $2.99. We use Gas Buddy as our search tool.

It's over $4 per gallon here in California. We have "special" gasoline and diesel.

I second that emotion! Not only do we have "special" gasoline and diesel, we have great roads that the "special" taxes paid for! (NOT!)

Here in AZ in August/Sept. I think gas prices had risen to within 5-10 cents of the diesel price. Now it is back to around 35-40.

I think the difference in some places is the state tax. We were in Iowa/Minn 2 weeks ago and I think some places were 60-70 cents difference.

Diesel fuel competes with heating oil in the winter therefore the price typically goes up. The two are similar from a refining perspective.

Where I live in Texas, I'm seeing gas prices falling but diesel pretty much remains the same. Our diesel is in the $2.90's but gas has fallen to the $2.40's

Gas in the local stations ~20 miles north of NY's capital district is about $2.75. Diesel is about $3.19 per gallon though I just filled at $3.15 at my usual station. It seems to be dropping a little from the high of $3.30/gallon a month ago

Near your location Dave and see about the same. Wondering why since crude has dropped what, $20 a barrel in last two weeks but haven't seen a flinch at the pump.

North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama (where we have been lately) $2.99 - $4.05. Truck Stops seem to be higher. Looking forward to being back in Texas!

It’s not the actual price I am wondering about. I guess we are fortunate to still be under $3.00 per gallon. But in the 14 years of owning a diesel I have never seen a price differential of 70 cents over regular gasoline. Diesel $2.89/regular gas $2.19 this morning.

Only once in those 14 yrs has diesel ever dropped below regular gasoline here. And only for a couple weeks. Unlike the old days just before I bought my first diesel.

You can blame that one on me. Right after I bought my first diesel teh price between them has flip flopped and the difference increases each time I get a new one
