Can anyone recommend a good dealer in Michigan?

Has anyone bought a Montana in Michigan and if so did you have a good experience with the dealer? We only know of Burnside RV in Houghton Lake, Kitsmiller in Mason, and Marlette RV in Marlette.

TIA.

Thanks! We are definitely open to traveling a ways to get the best deal. The only concern would be dealership followup for us, particularly since we won't have the tow vehicle for at least the first year of owning the RV (I am assuming at this time) and the fact that it will be our main place of residence (living in it full-time and no more house).

Tia - We are buying our second Montana in four years from A&S RV in Auburn Hills, MI. Ken is taking very good care of us and is very informative without being pushy. We have been very pleased with the dealership, as a whole, and Ken, as a salesman.

WFT, your situation on warranty and other service is a bit unusual. You might want to discuss this with the dealer before handing over any money. I'd get any agreements in writing, in very clear terms. Otherwise you likely will be paying out of pocket for a mobile service or for someone to tow your rig to the dealer. Just a suggestion.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Wannabe, I have heard a some good things about the Burnside, Houghton Lake dealership. We went with Town & CountryRV in Clyde OH, along with Rich (Richfaa) for our 3400's. We have been very pleased with the price and attitude of the personnel/owner.

You can PM/email/call me. I can tell you dealerships to stay away from - one in particular.

Wannabe, We purchased our 05 3650 from Burnside in Gaylord. Gary Dellinger, Sales Manager did a wonderful job for us. Service was good with 2 warranty trips and everything was completed to our satisfaction.

We also bought ours from Burnside in Gaylord and have been very happy with the salesman as well as the service. We had some minor warranty issues the addressed quickly as well as a major issued with the hitch set up that caused major damage. All was taken care of quickly and professionally. This is our 3rd 5er but first we bought from Burnside. I will go back when the time comes to make a change.

We have been very happy with the Service and customer relationship we have experienced with American RV of Grand Rapids. Actually, they are located at 76th and US 131 South of Grand Rapids, a great location for easy access to the expressway.

To me the most important feature of any dealership is the personal treatment one receives and the quality of service rendered. My experience with American RV is they are excellent in both categories.

This dealership has on many occasions, went to bat for us whether it was the factory or the insurance co's liability in order to try to save us some expense.

Whenever called regarding any questions concerning service, repair or waranty work, the staff has always been courteous and most helpful in their response to our problems.

I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone.

We got our Mountaineer from Kitsmiller in Mason and i'll recommend them above anyone else in Michigan. There service is superior to anything i've ever encountered. Had ours in for warranty adjustments and they fixed everything (and checked things I hadn't) and had it back right as they promised. They also had the best price of anyone I contacted in Mich, Ill, Ind and Ohio.

We bought a Cougar and our Montana from A&S RV in Auburn Hills. Sales & service second to none, IMHO. Worked with Mike in sales, & Ernie in service - both wonderful to work with...

We bought our Cambridge from Burnside and have had service done at both Burnside and Kitsmiller. Kitsmiller i absolutely great. Burnside is Pretty good however it took 5 trips there to get most of my warranty work completed. This was due to having to work with system suppliers who sent wrong parts etc.

The word on Burnside is they were bought by "free country" who has since merged with Camping World. My understanding is there will be Camping World stores at both Houghton Lake and Gaylord. It remains to be seen just how all of this affects Burnside sales and service. In the mean time all of the original employees are there.

I will go to the Houghton Lake Burnside for any warranty/out of warranty work while at our "home base" here in N. MI during the summer months. Hope you're right on the CW stores, Dave. Right now, we are about 280 milefromn the nearest CW.

We purchased our rig from Lakeshore RV in Muskegon MI. We did a lot of shopping over the internet and in person. They had a very competitive price. Our local dealer could not come withing $1,500 of Lakeshore. Can't say anything about the service as we have never been back there.

We also purchased our 2004 3280 from Burnside at Houghton Lake, Michigan. They went above and beyond with their service for us even as much as bringing our Montana downstate to us free of charge. We certainly would go back to purchase another Montana.

I have to agree with Jim & Bev, we bought ours from A&S and we have have been pleased. They are very close to our home and the service department is top notch. Larry the owner is a fabulous guy and so are his children who work there. I would also highly recommend Mike for a salesman.
