AC Filters

As I'm sure most are aware the foam AC filters are marginal at best. My solution was to remove the foam entirely and zip tie a piece of "cut to fit" filter material to the outside of the grill. When they need to be cleaned you just remove the entire cover, spray it out from the backside, shake it dry as possible and put it back up.

Another benefit is it's very easy to see when they need cleaning.

I have always just cut down home window unit material and cleaned them every two weeks. They're way better than the original, but don't show and work great. Plus, I keep two sets so one can dry while the other is in use. Since we full time in hot places, keeping them running is a necessity.

That is exactly what we do, plus I replaced the OEM grates with the Snapout type, that started showing up in the newer units.
