Chipped Shower Wall

Long time reader first time post! We have a small chip in the wall of our shower. The cleaning instructions say to use an non-abrasive cleaner and for stubborn stains to use a automotive cleaner. In my infinite wisdom I not having an automotive cleaner but having a RV cleaner and wax used a little bit in a spray bottle and wham a small chip popped off. What can we use to repair it? Lesson learned - next time listen to DW when she wants to use a vinegar and dawn dish soap solution!

I cant imagine what you did causing any harm, I don't get that. Only thing I can think of is a color matching nail polish.

I am betting the chip is from a screw tip that was over-driven a smidge and it penetrated your fiberglass shower wall. Just a theory because I have a spot that is about 5’ off the floor on the outside wall toward the back and it looks like the tip of a screw. Mine has not popped yet...but maybe some day.

I have a white automotive touch up pen for my truck that might work but not sure I could get that approved by the review committee (DW)...and if it did not match...nope - I just talked myself out of that idea!

Have covered minor chips in fiberglass using the repair kits from Lowe’s/Home Depot for sinks and toilets. Welcome

It didn’t go all the way through. Perhaps a weak point in the fiberglass

Also the possibility of using tub porcelain repair epoxy.
