Thanks for the add

Wife and I are full timers in a 2017 3820FK. Love the layout but having some heater and ac problems. And a weird one. When i turn on the roof vent in the kitchen it turns off the refrigerator.

Look forward to chatting

Welcome! I don't have any personal experience with the fan/fridge issue but I have seen it discussed here. Something to do with them both sharing a wiring run incapable of handling the load of both at the same time. Someone had a 2nd wire run to separate them and solved the problem. Good luck...sounds fixable.

Welcome to the forum! If I remember the recent thread the 12v running to both is on the same wiring and so the fan steals the control power from the frig.

Better known as the refer gremlin, I believe.

Yes, a lot of info on the fan/frig issue. We have a 2018 FK. It does need re-routing. Our fan was re-routed to the front shade circuit, and now the shade won't work if the fan is on. Easy to work around. I'd suggest the fan be on it's own circuit. Surprise! With all of this info, Keystone says they've never heard of it.

RV fridge or residential bc either sounds like a short if it an RV fridge or maybe something bigger electrical if it is a Residential?

We are also FK owners, we have temporary fix is to open the vent without turning on the fan, after the vent is open then turn on the fan. Appears to me that it is drawing to much current being tied in with the fridge. I saw another post on here with a wiring fix I'll have to find the link and post it

I have an fk. Same problem had the dealer pull a new dedicated circuit to the fridge (which is called for in the fridge manual). No more problems.

Yes, but look at the money Keystone saved by using the same feed line that the Vent Fan is on!

Welcome. We have a 3820 FK as well, same year. We're out of warranty now but the AC has always been terrible. There are some posts here that talk about ways to improve that as well as on the Keystone forum. I haven't experienced the fan issue you've mentioned but our fridge does mysteriously turn off sometimes, even when on shore power. Haven't been able to duplicate it for the service guys. I was wondering about your heater issue. Ours works fine at home, at 6800'. But when we were in Northern Cal last summer at sea level, could never get it to light. Anyway - welcome. We haven't done an mods yet because we're about 2 years out from being full-timers. First up is the Moryde Independent suspension and disc brakes. The electric brakes on this thing are terrible.

We had the fridge / vent issue with our 17 FK. Dealer had to re-wire the fan into another circuit.

We had the 3820FK for 2-1/2 years, and they ended up wiring the refer right to the batteries. Never had a problem after they did that.

Your symptoms are exactly what we are describing with your fridge turning off occasionally. Fix is to rewire fridge to dedicated circuit.

Since my 1-yr. Keystone warranty is up, I have an extended but on something like this that is intermittent, would it be covered and would a dealer even trust me to tell them just to re-wire it? Are there Tech service bulletins I could point them to? I'm dealing with CW for my extended warranty.

We had same issue. Talked to Montana under the warranty number, and she said there is an advisory out on this problem. We had a tech look at it and he ended up putting a new wire to the fuse box and added a new breaker. No problem with that now.
