Compartment door leak
Well we did it. We pulled the trigger and purchased a new High Country yesterday. 2 hours for the walk-thru and only found three items for the dealer to fix. Replacing one of the roller blinds, replacing led light strip on the front and replacing one cabinet door that is damaged. The rest of the PDI went well.
Now the bad news. It rained all night here and when I opened the compartment doors a while ago I have a water leak on both. It isn't coming in around the seal at the bottom. It appears to be leaking at the door frame seam at the top of the door. Both doors have water running down the inside of the door panel.
That seam at the top appears to be pressed in place on the door and not caulked. I can see light through a gap in the frame seam from inside the door. Anyone else experience this and did you simply caulk the seam?

Same issue with new 2019 3120RL. Dealer replaced both seals and repaired any other leak issues. The basement doors have not leaked since. I did my research on the seal material and instillation. For ours, it was poor instillation (not properly placed against the vertical door lip and folds or creases in the corners) and lack of caulk. I’ve gone over the unit top to bottom, front to rear and recaulked, tightened, and improved on lack of quality in the build.

James, we bought the Montana 3120RL - not too big, not too small, just right for our tow vehicle. For the price, we did well, but the quality issues are a pet-peeve of mine. I had read and fully understand that these RVs will have traveling issues, build issues is another thing. One of the issues we had was the ODS flood/Scare lights was half full of water and the bayonet fixture was totally rusted out. The mech who installed the light put some caulk around the lens, but never tightened (4 screws) to the lens down. Hey, he/she did a great job of sealing the bottom half of the lens...

We had the same problem on one of our basement doors. I replaced the seal with a better quality and no problems since.

Just kidding, I’m retired Army. Thank you for your service to our great Country.
