3790RD/3791RD Question

Does anyone know specifically why the 3791RD is one foot longer than the 3790RD? The only difference between the two units is the RV vs residential refer. None of the other Montana models that have a choice of refers are different in lengths. I thought it was merely a typo but looking back in previous years there are also length differences in this model. Even the dealers can't answer the question.

There was conflicting information for our previous model, a 2016 3790RD. Different Keystone documents showed three lengths, 40, 41 and 42. I e-mailed Keystone seeking clarification, never got a reply. Wasn't important to me so didn't pursue. Since the 2018's no longer have a rear bumper, the length will be some 6" shorter. Maybe when Keystone measured the 3791RD they measured over the towing ball and couldn't find it when measuring the 3790RD (sic).

Yes, I took into consideration the previous years' rear bumper being replaced by a 2" receiver hitch. The 2018 specs shows the 3790RD as 40'5". The 3791RD is 41'5". The specs on the website are the same as the new download version of the brochure. I've seen these same measurements in enough places that I'm convinced that it's not a typo error. Again, previous years had similar differences in length with the rear bumper on both.

I just bought a 2018 3791 RD. I will have to measure it. Some campgrounds have limitations for rigs over 40’.

On the new Keystone website they now have both 3790 and 3791 at 40.5 ft. I guess you could call it 40 ft by rounding down. I doubt that the campground would take a tape measure to it.

With extended painting pole on the front, yard stick on the back and a 100ft tape ran under the center of the rig, ours measures 41'3. My unit has a TrailAir on the front and a bumper on the rear. That accounts for the extra length, but mine is a '16 that does have the rear bumper as I said.

It's not likely that you will hear "Your camper is 40'6" long so we don't want you to spend $ with us. Move along!".
