Long Hot Stuck in AZ Summer

Hi

It has been quite awhile since I have signed on...it has been a long hot summer.

My last posts were about maintenance and getting our girl ready to hit the road. Unfortunately, in May, Pete had another set back and had to face more surgery. Long story...better for by the campfire. The good news is, he is finally starting to feel better and we are anxiously awaiting for the time to hit the road.

We have plans for a short outing close to home at the Lost Dutchman campgrounds in November...we thought it would be a good way to be sure we have attended to any maintenance, as well as ease back into the lifestyle we love. If all goes well, we hope to transition into full timers next year.

We have missed reading and conversing with MOC members, but we are back online to be a part of the community again.

Happy Trails
Darcy & Pete

Welcome back, glad Pete is doing better. We've loved the Lost Dutchman the couple of times we've camped there. If you get a chance go up 60 just a little way to Boyce Thompson Arboretum it's really cool there.

Darcy and Pete glad you can get back on the road soon. I am wondering where your picture was taken?

When I was in Phoenix in August it was hot. Only cooled off to 87degrees at night. Actually about 7:00 am was the cool time of 87. Still managed to play golf two out of three days.

Thanks to all for the welcome back messages.....i

Dan, the picture of our rig was taken at Deer Creek State Park in Utah. Nice campground with Lake views and walking trails.

Dick, Yes, we love Boyce Thompson, great spot. We are thinking about a day trip there...not to mention taking the Apache Trail loop. If you have never taken that ride, it is well worth it.

Last night was a huge step forward for Pete. First night out with his friends without me having to drive or watch over him. We can see the headlights!

I agree with the great day trip "Apache Trail", we really liked it. Our first time it was raining and we turned around at Tortella Flat because we were in a car and the water was 4"/ 6" deep over the road and we were advised not to try it in a sedan. Next trip was not raining and was beautiful except for one couple in a rental mustang that he drove like a rally racer car. Pass us then pull over. Pretty soon pass us again. Repeat, repeat repeat.
