Pondering
Should those of us who are fortunate enough to have arrived at a place where we are able to own RVs, begrudge the entity from whom we purchase said RV, his or their means to arrive at that same place?

I think what Larry is trying to say is that should those of us who used to have money be upset with Keystone who took most of it while putting tires and things on it they knew we would have to replace, taking the rest of our money while at the same time passing the rig on to a dealer to get somemore of our money while getting us to take the rig off the lot with a cracked landing gear leg, a slide with the hole cut to small and a propane pipe that was over threaded I guess I'm cool with that

If the beer gets you to the point to where you understand what the heck he said, then perhaps I should reconsider my abstinence? I think he is trying to say that we should not expect a substantial discount on the purchase of a rig?? When after the warranty period is up, the exorbitant labor rates kick in for those things that we don't have a MOC fix-it guide to enable us to tackle the repair ourselves? That is why the MOC is great, internet shopping is even better, and why we live in a great country! Sorry Larry, I think the entity has to earn that means, the same as we do. If I am out in left field, just don't hit the dang ball this way!

I took offense at the word "stealer". Simply tried to say it in a more thought provoking way without further offense to anyone. Larry

Not if they come by it as a result of honest and fair business practices. The others... not so much.

I consider RV dealers in the same category as car salesmen. They are all a pain in the behind. Yet, if I meet one that is straight-forward with me, knows the product he is selling, and then supports repairs/maintenance on the product, then I am usually loyal to him/her and I will recommend them to friends and family.
If a salesman comes after me like an ambulance chaser, I usually let them chase me all around the lot before I leave and go somewhere else. I have seen many dealerships where the pool of sales people will huddle together then send a rep out to meet anyone wandering onto their lot. I like to pick my own sales rep which may entail several trips to the dealership.
For instance, my 2010 Ram 3500 has 40K on it and is out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. One of our key fobs began eating batteries within 5 to 10 days. I had the dealer check them out and discovered a bad fob. Replacement was listed at $235. The maintenance manager gave me a good-will replacement at $50. And this is not the only good customer service action I have seen. This dealership has earned my loyalty.

Ya'll are trying to understand a helicopter troop. Give it up, we are wired differently. How else would we have ever gotten into something that was trying to kill us but missed. It's a love/hate thing.

You need to change dealers! I consider my dealer a friend and I did not know any of the people who work there until shopping for this RV.
