Actually, he was confused...there are so many people who mispronounce MOC...yep, sounds like poke and joke.

I can see where this can be a real bone-of-contention between those of us who really know.....and those other people.

Actually, I like Glenn's version because then, unless on has a very weird accent, we would all say it the same.
(However, in my own eccentric way, I will continue to say "MACH" in conversations with those not in the "know," and try to remember to spell it when talking in person with members.)
And yes, Robbie, I am now an "Easterner," but when we hit the road I will be from South Dakota, with pride!

Westerners!!! Humphhhh!! Sorry all, but everyone here on the right side of the country that I have encountered has pronounced it as "Mock" and we refer to ourselves as MOCers ehich we pronounce "Mockers". I like to think that it is primarily because all of those SOB's out there are trying their hardest to "mock" us, as in mockingbirds!! And before anyone asks, yes James and Carly used to be my favorites many moons ago!!
