Steve, if You have not added a chip, programmer, etc. to add hp then You should not be able to get a stock truck to have egt's that are too high. These trucks are all tested in extreme conditions like Death Valley pulling more than the rated loads and stay within operating parameters.

Gauges are always a good addition since You can never have too much information but are not a requirement.

thanks, John. Mine is pure stock in every way other than the additional gauges. Haven't yet seen a need to do anything to it and probably won't until past the 100k mile engine warranty since it's plenty strong as it is.
